GBP 90.00 Beautifully illustrated, chiefly in photogravure, an exhibition of 94 objects in all kind of materials showing various representations of animals. The objects date from the Zhou through to the Qing. The name of the owner of each object is given and the work is also a useful insight into early French (and other) collectors of Chinese art. Includes stone sculpture, tomb ceramics, jades and objects in a number of other media. Outer portfolio worn and tears to spine but otherwise a good copy with clean plates. One or two spots of foxing to one or two of the plates, not affecting the impressions. In French. A nice period piece. Subjects: Art Item 607 in List 214.
