A fine facsimile reprint of the famous late Ming illustrated text of applied science and technology, first published in 1637. A fascinating insight into traditional Chinese science in the 17th century and an important work, not least for the fine and detailed woodcut illustrations. Based on the copy held in the National Library of China that is the first edition produced in the tenth year of the Chongzhen reign, 1637. All text in Chinese. The six volumes comprising the facsimile are accompanied by a supplement volume explaining the history and importance of the work. Produced in a limited edition of 600 copies and immediately out-of-print.
