Reproduces archive material from the 1950s, early 1960s and early 1980s relating to works undertaken in the Yangxindian complex within the Forbidden City, best known for housing imperial workshops and also a prime residential area for the Qing emperors. Whilst the archives are of interest, the most extraordinary aspect of this work are black-and-white photographs showing the long-neglected and cluttered interiors within Yangxindian. In Chinese.
