Fascinating work on Chinese furniture produced for the imperial court at the height of the Qing dynasty during the Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong reigns. Illustrated throughout with exceptional examples of furniture, the large majority in the collection of the Forbidden City Palace Museum in Beijing. Some of the examples show a 'Yuanmingyuan' European palaces influence, whilst other examples are known to have come from the Qing imperial summer resort at Chengde. Illustrated throughout.
